- From Socorro take US 60 west for 40 miles to Forest Road 549 (marked with a sign).
- Take FR 549 approximately 9.5 miles south to the junction of FR 549 and FR 4.
- Park as close as possible to this junction. Alternatively, you can drive a few hundred yards down FR 4 and park at a large open area on the left which is used for picnics.
